Bus Ministry

Vision:  The Vision of GFC’s Bus Ministry is to provide an atmosphere of God’s life improving love thru transportation to and from GFC services and activities that would raise the ceiling of expectation participants have about their future and what God is willing to do for them.

Purpose: The purpose of this program will be twofold:

1.        Provide transportation to and from GFC services for a determined period of time for individuals in the community that require ride assistance. The intent of this aspect of the program is not to provide a permanent means of transportation to riders but to grow the rider spiritually to the end that their renewed faith would produce lifestyle improvements that would enable them to begin providing their own transportation to and from GFC services. In order to accomplish this goal the following criteria will guide this aspect of the ministry.

a.      Regular recruitment of riders in neighborhoods in the community will take place to sustain adequate bus usage and to continue to fulfill the call to “go into the highways and byways that God’s House will be filled”.

b.    The bus schedule will accommodate an arrival and departure time in which riders will be encouraged to attend GFC’s Elevate classes as well as GFC regular Sunday morning worship service.

 c.   Riders will be encouraged to apply the biblical principles taught in these classes and service offerings in order to improve the quality of their life to the end that they can begin providing their own transportation to GFC Services within a 12 month period.

2.     An Outreach to GFC seniors & community senior citizens in which free transportation would be provided to and from scheduled points of interest. The intent of this aspect of the program is to provide a permanent presence of God’s life improving love to the community to the end that our visibility and influence is sustained. In order to accomplish this goal the following criteria will guide this aspect of the ministry.

a.      Occasionally throughout the calendar year, GFC will offer a day trip to GFC seniors and surrounding Senior Citizen groups to a desired point of interest with no cost for transportation. Participants of this offering will only be responsible for personal cost of the trip.

b.      Bus capacity of 25 riders must be achieved in order to execute any day trip.

c.      A GFC bus driver and GFC Bus Greeter must be scheduled for the trip to take place.
